Training, Lineage, & Continued Study
My approach has been shaped by several intersecting paths of study and practice. End-of-life doula education provides a practical and ethical foundation, while my studies in spiritual death work, Reiki, priestesshood, music, and ceremonial practice inform how I understand presence, ritual, transition, and care.
INELDA End-of-Life Doula Training
This training provided a foundation in compassionate, nonmedical support for dying people and their loved ones. My practice is guided by INELDA’s Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics, including respect for each person’s autonomy, beliefs, cultural background, relationships, and individual experience of dying.

Tending Descent: Spiritual Death Worker Training and Mentorship
This three-month intensive explored death practices, ritual, grief, mortality, ancestral relationships, spiritual responsibility, and beliefs surrounding death and transformation across cultures and traditions. It deepened my understanding of death work as not only practical and relational, but also spiritual, symbolic, and communal.

Usui Reiki
I was trained in the Usui system of Reiki by Suzanne Amsler, a Reiki Master Teacher and Hierophant within the Mystery School of Isis. The lineage through which I was taught can be traced directly from Mikao Usui through successive teachers to Suzanne and then to me. This teacher-to-student continuity is meaningful to me because it places my practice within a living lineage rather than presenting Reiki as something I developed or discovered independently. My Reiki training deepened my understanding of presence, energetic awareness, consent, and the responsibility involved in accompanying another person without imposing an outcome upon their experience.

Priestess Formation
My priestess training and initiation within the Mystery School of Isis developed alongside my Reiki studies under Suzanne’s guidance. This path deepened my relationship with ritual, devotion, symbolism, sacred space, and the responsibility of supporting others through meaningful transitions. I understand priestesshood not simply as a title, but as an ongoing practice of service, study, discernment, and accountability.

Music and Sound
My relationship with music began through my grandmother, who was a vocalist, pianist, and career music teacher. She taught me as a classically trained pianist and gave me an early foundation in listening, expression, discipline, and the emotional language of sound. Music was part of my life long before I entered spiritual or ceremonial practice. Over time, that inherited and cultivated relationship with sound became integrated with Reiki, ritual, and the creation of spaces for reflection, transition, and connection.
The Development of My Ceremonial Practice
My ceremonial practice did not originate from one course or certification. It emerged gradually at the meeting place of these different foundations: the music passed to me by my grandmother, my Reiki lineage, my priestess formation, my relationship with nature and symbolism, and my continued experience creating and holding ritual space. Ceremony became the form through which these parts of my life could speak to one another. It continues to develop through practice, study, reflection, and an awareness that holding meaningful space for others requires both intuition and responsibility.
Continued Study
I understand this work as a lifelong practice rather than a collection of completed trainings. I continue to learn through ongoing spiritual practice, study, mentorship, relationships with teachers, and honest examination of my own beliefs and limitations. No certification, initiation, or profound experience makes someone finished. I remain a student of ritual, psychology, nature, grief, spiritual traditions, and the many ways people make meaning of life and death. Continued learning helps me approach this work with greater discernment, humility, and responsibility.
